Luxury yacht Felicita West was built in 2003 by Perini Navi with naval architect Ron Holland, and Nuvolari Lenard interior designers. S/Y Felicita West is one of the largest and fastest aluminium sailing yachts in the world and she is available for charter throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean waterways.

Sailing Yacht Felicita West offers a superb sailing experience and the highest levels of luxury and comfort. At 64m or 209′11″ in length she is capable of high hull speeds under sail. Also her generously wide beam of 12.7m or 41′72″ means she provides very spacious internal volume, sweeping decks (and side decks) and a very stable cruising motion.

Felicita West’s fly bridge is also very large and a full 12 charter guests can sit, relax, eat, enjoy the view and be entertained in either sun or shade whilst surrounded by massive mast machinery. A large swimming platform can fold down from her aft deck giving great water access or a landing for the yacht’s jet tenders or small sail boats.

She has a fantastic dinning area in the shaded sunken aft cockpit where the professional crew service transforms the scene from informal breakfast through buffet lunch to a sumptuous dinner.

Sailing Yacht Felicita West provides accommodation for up to 10/12 charter guests in the Mediterranean or Caribbean. She has a Full beam (41.5′) double Master suite complete with sitting room, walk in wardrobe and a superb bath.

Two queen bedded cabins with Pullman bunks, as well as two further twin bedded cabins with pullman bunks. As housing prices continue to rise in Hawaii, Hawaiian Beach Rentals reports an increasing demand to rent Oahu condos instead of buying. The latest report issued by Prudential Locations and outlined in the Pacific Business News revealed condo prices saw an increase of 1.6 percent between November, 2007 and January, 2008.

February 26, 2008 — As housing prices continue to rise in Hawaii, Hawaiian Beach Rentals reports an increasing demand to rent Oahu condos instead of buying. The latest report issued by Prudential Locations and outlined in the Pacific Business News revealed condo prices saw an increase of 1.6 percent between November, 2007 and January, 2008.

We continue to be fortunate that sales prices in Oahu are being maintained at 2007 levels.
A leader in the travel industry, Hawaiian Beach Rentals secures Oahu vacation rentals and extended relocation rentals to meet a variety of housing needs. Currently the median sales price for an Oahu condo is $320,000. As a result, condo sales were down 18 percent over the past three months. The desire to reside and do business in Oahu still remains strong because Hawaiian Beach Rentals is receiving a larger number of inquires about Oahu rentals in the past year.

Although Oahu houses did not see an increase in price between November, 2007 and January, 2008, sales were down 21 percent from the same time last year. Currently the median sales price for an Oahu home is about $610,000. Rather than buy, savvy residents rent a house in Oahu to be near business and recreation in Honolulu.

Because the cost to buy housing remains high in Oahu, more people are seeking to rent while they save money to buy homes. Some people have attempted to wait out the Hawaii housing market because of decreasing housing prices elsewhere throughout the nation. However, sales prices for Oahu condos and homes remain strong into 2008. While housing prices continue to fall across the United States, the cost is still the same or increasing in Hawaii. According to Donna Chandler, the newly elected president of the Honolulu Board of Realtors, “We continue to be fortunate that sales prices in Oahu are being maintained at 2007 levels.”

Hawaiian Beach Rentals has acquired additional rental houses and condos to accommodate the increased demand for rental properties. Jeff Berzolla of Hawaiian Beach Rentals states, “We act as an intermediary between thousands of vendors of Hawaii vacation rentals, vacation homes, condos, hotels, resorts, apartments and bed and breakfasts at Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. Our local experts will help you coordinate the perfect trip and connect with the ideal accommodation for you, from beachfront cottages to luxurious oceanfront mansions.”

More information about rental homes and condos on Oahu can be found at www.HawaiianBeachRentals.com.

Houston, TX February 26, 2008 — With the recent groundbreaking of Phase I of Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy, on schedule to open this year, Lakes of Bella Terra continues its transformation into West Houston’s most dynamic and multi-faceted destination.

“Schools are such an important consideration for our homebuyers,” said Lisa Clark, Vice President of Ryko Development, Inc., Houston’s 2006 “Developer of the Year”. “Having a private school of the caliber of Westlake Prep, right next-door and within walking distance of the homes, is a tremendous draw for Lakes of Bella Terra.”

The first phase of Westlake Prep will consist of a 31,000 square foot elementary school that will serve students from pre-school through third grade. On schedule to open during the last week of August, the brand new facility will house classrooms, a state-of-the-art media center and library, gymnasium, administrative offices and more.

Situated on 50 acres within Lakes of Bella Terra, Westlake Prep is the newest school of the Lutheran Education Association of Houston, which has a long history of providing exemplary education in the Houston area.

“The Lutheran Education Association of Houston has been in operation since 1949,” explained Glenn D. Gerber, Head of School, Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy. “It also operates Lutheran High North and Lutheran South Academy, which is the closest model for what Westlake Prep will become. Upon its completion, Westlake Prep will encompass an elementary school, middle school and high school, each of which will be fully licensed and accredited.”

Students of Westlake Prep have a great deal to look forward to, including the very latest facilities, one computer for every student, full sports programs, extracurricular activities and dedicated teachers, many of whom have 20 years of experience or more. An especially exciting feature of Phase I is “Before And After School Care” from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

“We are thrilled with what the opening of Westlake Prep will mean to Lakes of Bella Terra,” added Clark. “It adds another great layer to the overall experience, just like the opening of our multi-million dollar Recreation Center did. We’re also excited about the new Walmart and Kohls, opening soon just down the street.”

Lakes of Bella Terra is an exciting, dynamic place to live, shop, play, learn and grow, all in family-friendly, resort-setting just minutes from the Westpark Tollway.

Executive Homes are now selling at Lakes of Bella Terra from the $180’s to the $600’s. 10 models are now open. Executive Home builders include Newmark Homes, Darling Homes, David Weekley Homes, David Powers Homes, Fedrick Harris Estate Homes, Village Builders, Westport and Wilshire Homes.

Estate Custom Homes tucked into a gated, waterfront enclave within the community are now selling from the $700’s to $2 million. Estate Custom Homes are true, one-of-a-kind creations by Masterpiece Custom Builders, Ronny Carroll Custom Homes and Westport.

Lakes of Bella Terra’s multi-million dollar Recreation Center features a junior Olympic pool, water playground, tennis courts, volleyball courts, state-of-the-art exercise center and community gathering rooms.

Representing a variation on this same theme, Breitling has created a timepiece endowed with a mechanical complexity embodying several centuries of precious horological expertise. The new Mark VI Complications 29 is a marvel of miniaturization such as only a few master watchmakers are still capable of creating. This chronograph consists of nearly 500 parts. It has a perpetual calendar programmed to display the date, day, week, month, season and phases of the moon, taking account of leap-year variations. No less than thirteen hands are required to display this information, a task they perform with extreme accuracy, as this highly complex mechanical assembly is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute. In keeping with the noble character of this watch, the Mark VI Complications 29 is being issued exclusively in rose gold and platinum,in limited editions of 250 and 100 respectively.

Exploring the far reaches of the globe is the reasoning behind this concept. This new approach to a motoryacht combines the reliability and savings of commercial shipbuilding with the fascination and freedom of yachting.

The Marco Polo series presents an interior arrangement for 10 guests and 8 crew that has very positive charter potential. Also, a low operation cost due to 35% fuel saving of the single engine configuration, plus construction details aimed at low maintenance, ensure a real commercial advantage.

Ron Holland
Naval Architect and Interior Designer ~ Transocean Explorer

45 metre Transocean Explorer

My response to this knowledgeable design brief of a very experienced yachtsman lead me to look beyond proven commercial hull types with naval architectural principles that had followed an evolutionary road influenced by wide ranging operational requirements. Although I wanted to incorporate the very best sea keeping characteristics of those vessels, I also wanted my personal experience of sailing thousands of ocean miles in a wide variety of sailing yachts to have an influence.

Ron Holland comments on the Hull Design

My goal was to marry this experience with proven commercial naval architecture. This would place operational efficiency and sea keeping ability in the most extreme geographic regions at a higher priority than achieving the maximum accommodation. So often en accommodation volume seems to be the primary influence in many existing motor yachts. Aesthetic principles would also have an important influence on the new design.

The Marco Polo Series hull lines feature fine forward water lines fairing into a low volume bulbous bow that drew on the recent experience of the latest military vessels. This approach maximises the ability of the hull to penetrate rough water conditions with reduced resistance and pitching moments, yet retains the advantages of increased range that the bulbous bow will produce. Soft mid sections and clean aft exit lines work together to ease the hull through sea conditions, no matter how extreme.

Operational efficiency is a key design consideration

A lot of a. ention has been given to the efficiency of the propeller, and both single and twin screw arrangements have been optimised for this design. The first off this design will feature a single propeller concept following the evolution of the world’s most efficient commercial ships. This has been fine tuned and verified by a series of scale model tank test studies. We have taken full advantage of the reliability of modern marine engines and drive systems, but as a back-up, Marco Polo will use a Schottel bow thruster powered by its own remote engine that also allows a ‘get home’ capability of 6 knots speed.

The Marco Polo Series has a unique safety feature due to the separation into two distinctive engine rooms for the primary engine and the forward Schottel thruster ‘get home’ engine. Fire or fl ooding of the engine room will render most motoryachts inoperable.

The propeller is uniquely protected by twin rudders and skegs and the stabilisers are similarly protected by oversized bilge keels.

Specification

Naval Architect: Ron Holland
LOA: 45.00m / 148’5”
1,240kW with variable
pitch propeller

General Information

Boarding Marco Polo from either the starboard gangway or from the stern platform presents unique entry experiences. Starboard side entry is through a lobby area that immediately offers views through the dining and saloon areas. From the aft deck, the indoor / outdoor bar counter to port or the opening drop windows to starboard offer a unique connection between exterior and interior spaces. The intention is to create a seamless connection between this yacht’s different spaces. The owner and guests also have the use of library/entertainment lounge forward of the main deck with exceptionally large windows and views to match.

The Marco Polo Series 45 metre Transocean Explorer yacht has been designed to explore the world’s remote regions, and being self sufficient is a priority. Generous bilge storage spaces and a large foredeck hold area are important features. To port, an open well deck allows for a 7 metre tender to be stowed below the bulwark height. To starboard, a 5.2 metre tender/rescue boat is housed under a hatch deck. This deck has been designed to handle a container or automobile when ‘Amazon river’ type cruising is envisaged. There is also potential for jet skis, light aircra. , sailing dinghies and dive equipment to be stowed on board. This design is the result of an experienced collaboration between MCC, designer and yacht captain to allow unrestricted long range world cruising.

During the construction process, this same experience will be committed to ensuring a world class yacht is built. An in depth study of shipyards around the world was carried out in an effort to select the best building option for the Marco Polo Series 45m Transocean Expolorer yachts. This research resulted in signing a contract with Cheoy Lee, a Hong Kong company with the shipyard based in mainland China. We are completely confident the combined resources of Ron Holland Design, Maritime Concept & Construction, and Cheoy Lee will produce these 45 metre Transocean Explorer yachts to the highest level of workmanship and reliability.

Presented as a worldwide preview at 47th Genoa International Boat Show, the Ferretti 592 retains the strengths that ensured the success of the previous models, Ferretti 590 and Ferretti 591. The 592 has the sleek profile and the large open view windows that make Ferretti yachts stand out wherever they are in the world, while featuring brighter, more contemporary fittings.

A product of the well-established partnership between Studio Zuccon International Project, which was responsible for the superstructure and interior layout, and the AYT - Advanced Yacht Technology - FERRETTI YACHTS Engineering Division, which handled the propulsion and hull, Ferretti 592 is a perfect mix of design and performance.

Extending the window area provides an almost unbroken view and floods the living area with natural light.

Relocating the galley aft allows better use of space and greater comfort and convenience - by opening the tilting windows it’s possible to create a single open space uniting cockpit, galley and living area, emphasising the atmosphere of sociability and enjoyment.

The full-beam owner’s cabin created in the night area, with two open view windows and chaise longue, is comparable to the owner’s suite on a much larger yacht. It is joined by a VIP cabin forward and the twin guest cabin, all with private bathroom.

The exterior layout offers ample opportunities to enjoy the sun and sea. The flybridge, without rollbar, offers a large sunpad forward of command console, together with a comfortable U-shaped sofa around the table, next to the fridge and grill area.

Two steps separate the galley from the living area, which is furnished with large sofas and an extending table to starboard, while to port is a two-seat divan. The combination of woods chosen for the furniture ‘opaque gold’ and the light divans makes the interiors especially bright and spacious.

The command console is raised to provide maximum visibility.

Below decks the Ferretti 592 offers the full-beam master cabin that is a typical feature of larger Ferretti yachts - wide open-view windows with opening sections, private wardrobe and bathroom with separate shower in gold ‘teka’ and glass fibre, also chosen for the other bathrooms.

Alongside the master cabin the accommodation also includes a double and twin cabin with parallel beds, both with private bathroom and separate shower. Two such large cabins in a yacht of less than 60 feet provides an extremely popular plus, proof that the public recognises the potential of the design solutions adopted by FERRETTI YACHTS.

Thanks to care given to the design of this yacht the third cabin on the Ferretti 592, with its two parallel single beds, is an extremely comfortable space, where the layout has created room for a capacious cupboard for clothes and travel bags.

In terms of performance, the Ferretti 592 can be fitted with two 900 or 1100 MAN engines. The more powerful option provides a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum speed of 33.5 knots.

FERRETTI YACHTS AND THE FERRETTI GROUP

Chestertown, MD July 28, 2007 — Fair Wind Sailing School - (www.fairwindsailing.com) America’s Best Sailing School - announces the expansion of its Maryland sailing school on Worton Creek with the addition of a second boat, the C&C 29, Allegro. “We are thrilled to continue growing on the Chesapeake Bay,” commented David Bello, President of Fair Wind Sailing School.” This is an outstanding sailing vessel that will allow Fair Wind to expand our sailing curriculum and also provide another sailing charter option to our students on the Chesapeake Bay,” continued Bello.

The C&C 29 is ideally suited for Chesapeake Bay sailing with a generous sail plan for performance and a full spinnaker for excellent downwind sailing ability. In addition its shoal draft allows access to the many thin-water anchorages the Bay has to offer. With the addition of the C&C 29, Fair Wind expects to expand its sailing instruction capabilities. In addition, the size of the C&C will permit more economical sailing charters for small families and groups.
